Prerequisites: High school algebra and geometry. Designed as an introduction to more advanced work for students with little background in chemistry or weak problem-solving skills. Students who receive a D in Chemistry 2001x may subsequently take CHEM BC1002y without forfeiting credit for 2001x. Does not count toward laboratory science general education requirement. Permission of instructor. Enrollment limited to 30 and Barnard ONLY. Lecture: TuTh 10:10-11:25.

Introduction to the fundamental concepts of chemistry from an electronic and molecular perspective as well as the macroscopic behavior of matter.
